Portapique Market
The Portapique Market opened in June of 2022. It is a year round Good Foods Market serving local residents of the Colchester Shore as well as visitors to the community. The Market operates every Saturday morning from 9am-12pm on the grounds of the Portapique Community Centre. Thanks to community partners and many community minded local volunteers, the Market has quickly become a social gathering place for local residents.
The Market features a large produce table where fresh, local produce is available for purchase. A sharing table sporting a variety of items and a prepared food offering, allowing visitors to the market to sample and enjoy some delicious prepared food options, are also accessible to visitors to the Market. Furthermore, there are also many local vendors showcasing their goods and family activities including an arts and crafts table, games and other events.
Without a building currently built, the Market has temporarily moved to the Bass River Fire Hall for the winter months. However, we are certainly excited for this market to be operating in our community and are sure to see it return to the Portapique Community Centre site when the good weather returns.
